Today’s Dachshund (6/23/09) - Still Remembering Killer, The Wiener Dog Killed By The Danville, Virginia Police
Uproar over the shooting of Killer, a 12 pound wiener dog, by a Danville, Virginia police officer is starting to die down a bit. But last week, Danville City Councilman Adam Tomer publicly announced his “anger and disgust” over the incident.
Said Tomer, “I am not upset with the police department as a whole over the handling of the shooting of the dachshund, but I am angry and disgusted at the action itself and the way the leadership has handled it within the police department.” The strong language didn’t end there. Tomer went on to add that the incident “embarrassed the town and embarrassed its leadership … I do not understand how we have a leader in the police department who can justify this action.”
Perhaps, we’ve not heard the end of this tragic event.
